Star Trek in Denobulan, Esperanto, and English (Length: 1:47)

Added on February 23, 2007.  I was playing around with a short film clip from "Star Trek: Enterprise." Here, Hoshi speaks with Dr. Flox and attempts to learn his language of "Denobulan." I translated both the English and the Denobulan languages to Esperanto.

Zamenhof! Zamenhof! (Length: 1:56)
Ho Zamenhof! (Length: 2:52)
Portu la Lumon (Length 2:24)
Zamenhof vi Foras Nun (Length x:xx)

Added on December 12, 2006.  On December 9, 2006, I attended the annual Zamenhofa Bankedo, or Zamenhoff Banquet, at Talayna's Italian Restaurant in St. Louis, MO. I moved to St. Louis in 2000. I located the local Esperanto Association and joined them right away. I have attended the Banquet every year except for the one in 2001, which I missed. Last year I was elected to the board of officers as Secretary and was re-elected to that post this year (2006). These videos are of our club singing traditional songs about Esperanto and praising the memory of the language's creator, Dr. Ludoviko L. Zamenhoff, who was born on December 15th. The hardest part of these videos was getting the words to scroll in view at tha

Powow Day #2 (Length: 8:18)

Added on September 12, 2006.  On Saturday, 9-9-06, I attended my second day at the Intertribal. I almost did not go, but I am glad I did. I had a very good time and got some fantastic photos. However, BEFORE viewing this PLEASE note a very important error that I made. Toward the end I filmed a young man dancing and I labeled him a "Jingle Dancer" ... this should have been "Grass Dancer" This is important since Jingle Dance is performed only by women!

Powow Day #1 (Length: 7:10)

Added on September 12, 2006.  On this day, 9-8-06, I attended my first ever Intertribal Powwow. I was not very thrilled with this experience, but the next day (Sat. 9/10/06) I attended the Powwow and had a fantastic time and took wonderful pictures. This is a short video clip from my first, more disappointing experience. The blaring light (not a bon fire) in the middle of most of the scenes just ruins most of it, but... well... here it is...

Campus Crisis! (Length: 2:18)

Added on November 1, 2005. On Sunday, October 30, 2005, in the United Kingdom, a major fire broke out with accompanying explosions at Southampton University in their chemical and IT buildings. Toxic fumes suffused the neighborhood and city water ran yellow! Chris James, a professional photographer, was on hand to capture images of this disaster. My close friend, RubyDancingmoon, who knows Chris well, compiled this video movie for him using his dramatic photos which depict this harrowing event. (I did not create this video, but was remotely involved...)

Cahokia Mounds (Length: 1:55)

Added on September 15, 2005. On September 13, 2005, I took another trip out to the ancient Cahokia Mounds. This is a short video I put together of the event. Beingn of Cherokee ancestry, the Cahokia mounds have a great significance to me. History (as recorded by our white conquerors) does not record this, but it is told to us by our grandmothers, that the great mound at Cahokia, known to us as "The Temple of the Sun" was once the place of central rule 1000 years ago. The ancient (and unknown) Cahokians ruled this land up into Canada and down in to Mexico, and even as far as Florida. My Cherokee ancestors who were alleged to be of the Kutani clan of the Cherokee people (the "ani Yvwiya"), were the religious and academic masters of the era. The rulers here in Cahokia (where I now live) sent there acolytes to the Kutani for training in priestly ways and they then returned to The Temple of the Sun and participated in the ruling of this land. And yes, I know I look more "Nordic" that Ameridian... I can't help genetics! lol!! (But, the blond hair is from the bottle; the blue eyes from the Creator).

Nature in the Backyard (Length: 4:17) CONDENSED VERSION: for 56K

Added on July 7, 2005. It is with great pleasure that have been given the opportunity to promote "Feather River Singers" and their first CD Album entitled "Daughters of the Earth." I have used samples of their music in my latest video creation. This album is a collection of twelve original songs composed by members of the group.

Album cover designed by the Feather River Singers and Larry Badger. Artwork by LE Honeycutt. The mountains are the Great Smokeys, the Cherokee homeland. The seven birds represent the seven Cherokee clans.

Feather River Singers

...is a Native Women's drum group dedicated to singing Native American music in native languages as well as English. They come from many indigenous Nations, including Cherokee, Choctaw, Blackfoot, and Comanche. The group began as a drumming class with the Indian Education Program of Marysville, California, whose drum group developed over a period of ten years. The initial instruction was received from Mike Davis and Lucky Preston, both members of the former Big Lake Singers. Their new CD features "Stai Yu," a Sneak Up Dance song in Cherokee. This song celebrates the warrior and was composed by members of the group.

Also "Mother Earth" by Pamela Ames (in English) is a song intended to honor the Creator. One may purchase the Daughters of the Earth album at CD Baby. There are samples of their music available. My video production started out a simply some nature photography in a friend's backyard. I had no idea what music I wanted to add to it. However, when I the sample of "Mother Earth" I knew I had a match! The video also includes a sample "Dragging Canoe."

So check out their album and help promote your Native sisters at CD Baby !!

Native American - Psalm 23 (Length: 4:12)

Added on June 25, 2005. Despite its size, this movie file contains no video clips. Surprisingly, it only contains about 20 still shots. However, I feel that this is the best movie file that I have created to date! I is moving and emotionally stirring beyond anything I have managed to created so far. I am overwhelmingly pleased with the result, and I hope that you are pleased in some small fashion as well. Not only did I gain a lot of technical experience in the development of this video, I also experienced an emotional and spiritual lift that I cannot explain in mere words! I hope you get a vague sense of what I mean when you view this file!

(6/27/05) - I have since received many responses and requests for this move file. It has gotten "rave reviews" from viewers lots of praise. I would also like to thank "Bob" from the Tsalagi Yahoo group who sent me the original words and sparked my inspiration to create this movie. <Lee>

CONDENSED VERSION: The NA Psalm 23 - for 56K

The Unicorn Song (Length: 4:17)

Added on July 1, 2005. Dedicated to Colleen (Dabbs) Lewis (my mother) and Ruby Blampied (Ruby Dancingmoon's "Nan"); two wonderful ladies who we discovered both loved the classic "The Unicorn Song." The music is performed by The Brobdingnagian Bards and I have intermixed pictures to go with the music and lyrics. The main exercise for me in this production, technically speaking, was working with timing and coordination of the pictures to match the music. I intended to record this at "Video for Broadband NTSC [768Kbps];" however my system kept crashing and I had to reduce the quality to 384Kpbs. This has resulted in some blurring and a tinny quality to the music that I regret.

CONDENSED VERSION: The Unicorn Song for 56K

Devon - Part I (Length: 6:19)

Added on June 22, 2005. This is the first segment of a video production I created back in 1990. The topic is my niece who was living with me at the time (she is almost 17 now!). I created the original footage and sound track using a CD play, VHS video camera, a sound mixer and two VCR's (plus lots of cables). The video tape has degraded quite a lot over time, so I am trying to get it digitize to preserve it before it is beyond recovery. The first portion of this tape takes place in my home in Deltona, Florida. The colors have really degraded. My carpet is supposed to be blue and my niece is wearing a red bathing suit. The second part of the footage is filmed at Deltona Lake with my sister, Darlene, and my dog, Aisha.

Devon Part II (Length: 6:11)

Added on June 26, 2005. Continuing my "Devon" series. The music is the original sound track. I have added some title overlays to this version. This clip features Uncle Lee (me) dancing with Devon, Uncle Doug and Devon in the front yard, and Uncle Doug rough housing with Devon while Thor (the dog) jealously chases the both of them.

Devon Part III (Length: 5:49)

Added on June 26, 2005. Continuing my "Devon" series. The music is the original sound track, except I added a short sound clip in the beginning and end. I think this production is the best of the three so far. I am improving my technique with each project. This clip features Doug and Devon continuing to play (she gets a horsy-back ride which is quite acrobatic. Then Thor takes over a plastic pumpkin which became is favorite toy for many years to come. Next we watch a Delta-2 rocket launch from Cape Canaveral; first on TV from the living room, then we go out to the back yard to watch it live. Finally, we see Devon going trick-or-treating for her first time, dressed up as a Bag Lady. Thanks to Ruby Dancingmoon for all the time she spent help me find errors/problem in my "Devon" series; especially "Part III".

Devon Part IV (Length: 5:03)

Added on June 26, 2005. Continuing my "Devon" series. This is the continuation of Devon's on Samhain (Halloween) of 1990. It also includes her Uncle Skip who had used his special effects make-up to create a horrific appearance. His make-up was so good that he won a costume contest that night (and he didn't even enter it!). This video includes some special effects as I continue to learn and gain experience in my movie making skills.

Devon Part V (Length: 2:32)

Added on June 27, 2005. In this short clip, Devon meets with Santa Clause for the first time. Filmed in Orange City Florida on December 19, 1990.

The Burn Pile (Length: 3:58)

Recorded on June 15, 2005. I was burning some debris in the back yard, and decided to see if I could make this an artistic endeavor. Don't expect much. Just sit back and watch the fire and listen to the music. It might be pleasantly relaxing. If you watch closely, you can see some fireflies blinking in the back ground, but don't get them mixed up with the sparks flying through the air!

Ken's Aquarium (Length: 2:08)

This was something I created from only SIX photos that my brother in North Carolina took of his two marine aquariums. I used various special effects and music to make this presentation seem "animated." I am very pleased with the results! (...and "yes" ...I know I have a typo at the end and misspelled "acquarium" with a "C" ... oops!)

Going Away Party (Length: not sure/truncated)

April 12, 2005. I was laid off from my job with Washington University on April 1, 2005. Afterward, I was invited to attend a "going away party" (which I sarcastically called a "throwing away party." This file was not complete and was truncated. The end should have had a screen saying "The Beginning" ... in an attempt to be positive about a very bad situation. Keep that in mind when you view this one and it ends abruptly. You might even have trouble playing it, and I cannot determine the running length on this one. However, I put so much time into creating this movie (several days), that I had to share the portion that I succeeded in salvaging.

DragonCon 2004 (Length: 3:58)

August 2004. I am an avid fan of science fiction and am known in the community of Star Trek fandom as the Klingon, K'Pach. I have attended "DragonCon" in Atlanta, GA, for the past two years, but I don't think I can make it this year (2005) due to finances and other problems. So, please review this collage of images of (computer enhanced) pictures of costumes attendees in costume! It was (and will be) a blast!

Memories of Colleen (Length: 3:16)

Colleen, my dear departed mother, Daisy Colleen Dabbs. I made this video out of a compilation of videos of my mother (1937-1984). I have since learned, after creating this video, that I may have the date of her marriage wrong. Apparently it was not Feb 5, 1955. Also, I have learned that her burial location is actually in Pasco, WA... not in Kennewick. I was very distraught at the time of course, and a bit confused. The words in the music say so much as to how I feel. Colleen, my mother, was by no means a perfect person, but she was honest and good hearted with a loving personality. She has been gone from us now since 1984, but I still miss her terribly, though she does visit me in my dreams on occasion. This is a tribute to my Mom, and mothers everywhere. Bless them all!

A Daisy's Life (Length: 1:09)

This might be considered a sequel to the above "Going Away Party." At this even, I received a potted "Gerbera Daisy" which I took home and nurtured for the extent of its limited life span. This is a very short video expressing the short life of this potted flower. Purely created for its "artistic" value.

The New Door (Length: 2:02)

March 2005. In March of 2005 we were burglarized (an awful experience!). Our back door was bashed in and had to be replaced. I took some pictures for the landlord as the workmen went about their job and created this short movie. You will see two doors being worked on since we had new locks and deadbolts installed and you will also see my dog, Kira, keeping an eye on them.

Missouri Botanical Gardens (Length: 4:44)

On March 12, 2005, I took a trip to the Missouri Botanical Gardens with my camera. There are many exotic plants and birds. This presentation is done to classical music by Vivaldi.

Western Skit (Length: 4:47)

June 6, 2005. This is a collection of bits & pieces, no special effects, transitions or music overlay. Taken on June 5, 2005, at Six Flags over Missouri while relaxing and watching a short musical comedy performed live. I was actually pulled from the audience for one of those humiliating audience participation things, but you won't see THAT in this skit! (Even if I could have filmed it).

When Ducks Attack! (Length: 0:49)

November 2004. This was my first time ever using the "video" mode on my new camera back in November 2004. It's nothing special, but kind of amusing, as my brother and I are swarmed by ducks and Geese who want some of the bread we are tossing out to them. You may hear my brother scream as one adventurous water fowl snatched his cigarette from his fingers and ran off with it. (No... it was not lit).

DelRoy's Bar (Length: 1:56)

July 3, 2005. I moved from Delton, Florida, USA, in June of 2000. One of my buddies back in Deltona was Sam Bizarro. After moving to St. Louis, MO, I ended up in communication with Sam's father, Joey. This is is some video clips of Joey (the older guy, in the orange tank-top). I never met him in person, but we have been chatting on line for several years. However, I have not heard from him in over a year now, so I am concern as to his situation now.

Doe Boy (Length: 3:39)

August 14, 2006. Excerpt from the movie "Doe Boy" ... If you are of Cherokee ancestry, you should watch this movie!

Fireworks 2005 (Length: 8:04)

July 4, 2005. My fireworks presentation for the year. This was filmed shortly after losing my job with Washington Univerity and less than a year after the purchase of my new camera (which I used to film this).

Graduation 2007 (Length: 12:19)

May 25, 2007. It was my utmost pleasure to travel to Oklahoma (trip paid for by my brother, Leo Lewis!), in order to visit family and attend the gradutation ceremonies of my two nieces, Stephaie Merie Selfridge, and Pamela Devon Norris.

I go Chop your Dallar! (Length: 7:10)

March 4. 2007. This was a video I captured and modified in collaboration with Fraud Aid in an effort to alert people to the hazard and very real danger of on-line fraud.

Tribute to Kira (Length: 3:08)

December 2, 2006. This video was create just days before my belovéd Kira's hind legs gave out on her permanently. She spent most of December 2006 in the kitchen floor. As she digressed she developed sores on her legs and her life was becoming miserable. On January 6, 2007, I gave in and had her euthanized.

Lee Plays the Keyboard (Length: 2:42)

July 1990. Captured originally on my VHS video camera, I have converted this file over to AVI and eventually WMV formats. Taken in Deltona, Floirdo, 1815 Trumbull Street (in the house that Doug and I built). Present is my sister Darlene, and my niece Devon.

Lee Turns 50! (Length: 19:05)

Oct 2-3, 2007. Recoding my FIFTIETH birthday. Very personal... and I am drunk! lol!!! This is one of my LONGEST videos ever.

Merry Merits Trailer (Length: 3:33)

Circa 1991. While employed with the City of Orlando (1983-1998) I had the utmost pleasure of participating in the development of a short vide skip for the Information Systems Department. Me and my close friend and co-worker, Karen (Kincaid) Geisler (aka: maSpegh SutaI-jubhchuQun) were recruited to play the part of "Klingon Instructors" ... we had a wonderful time and it was one of the highlights of my career with the City of Orlando. Sadly, that career came to an abrupt end when, due to illness (a mild stroke) I was unable to fend for myself and was fired... after 15 years. I still love the City of Orlando, and they (they wonderful employees) will always be my "family." I am sad that my years of employment ended so abruptly and beyond my control (But, life goes on!).

Remembering Pop (Length: 3:00)

January 2007. This video was not taken by me, but rather by my friend, Larry, when his father passed away. Submitted in memory of his father and with respect and condolences to the family

Skip's Home Brew (Length: 8:31)

May 18, 2007. This is a video depicting my brother (Skip) and his friend's new hobby ... home brewing...

Yuletied in St. Louis (Length: 4:42)

December 23, 2003. Me and my brother visited my friends, Marty and JR at JR's home in St. Louis where we had a very nice Yuletied.

Kazakh (Length: 1:06)

October 14, 2007. We watched the movie "Nomad - The Warriors" today. It was a very good movie. I enjoyed it. It was entirely in the language of Kazakh. I creatd this short sample of the movie and the Kazahk language. Fascinating!

Birhday Excursion Zoo Trip (Length: 3:39)

October 3, 2007. On my FIFTIETH birthday, a very significant and monumental date for me, my brother (bless his heart!) took off early from work and we went to the St. Louis Zoo for an afternoon excursion. Despite the problems I am having with my back (I had to bounce from bench to bench, rather than from exhibit to exhibit!) ... I had a great time and a vey pleasurable day at the Zoo with my brother.

Nature Walk (Length: 14:50)

October 27, 2007. As the fall colors began to take hold here in South West Illinois, I felt a need to get out in nature for a while. I went to one of my favorite places Our Lady of Snows Catholic Shrine near Belleville. I got some spectacular shots and was elated to encounter some wild deer on the path. They let me take their pictures before zipping off into the underbrush. I enhanced this video with music from Enigma. The first piece sounds very Gregorian (appropriate for a Catholic Shrine). The second piece is "Silent Warrior" and has a strong Amerindian influence. Both pieces complimented the scenes quite well.

Jack & Adam (Length: tba)

1991. Jack and Adam visit my home in Deltona, Florida in 1991... with Jack's pet rat, "Smokey."well.

Aphis Nerii (Length: tba)

August 2008. A spoofy view of some bright yellow aphids "Aphis Nerii" from my yard. The "queen" ... a winged female, was making er way across her minions and I could just hear strains of the Star Wars "Imperial March" as Darth Vader strode among his Imperial Troopers. Short, mildly academic, mildly amusing...
